1. Introduction

1.1 Overview

EdgeHub provides a system notification setting function, allowing system administrators to use different notification channels to send system notifications. Currently, EdgeHub supports the following notification channels:

• Email

This function is only available for system administrators. The conditions for being a system administrator are as follows:

• Can access the Root tenant
• Has Admin privileges in the Root tenant

Currently, EdgeHub sends the following system notifications:

• Welcome email for new users registering on EdgeHub for the first time

• Notifications related to subscription (only for public cloud operational site), including

  • Subscription success notification
  • Subscription expiration reminder
  • Subscription payment notification
  • Subscription expiration notification
  • Payment failure notification
  • Service termination notification for Tenant

1.2 System Notifications

• After logging into EdgeHub, if you have Root tenant permissions, you can see the Root tenant in the Tenant list. Please click to enter.

  

• After entering, select the gear icon in the upper right corner -> Advanced settings

  

• After entering the screen, select the System notifications tab to access the System notifications settings function.

  

• Currently, the System notifications support the following notification channels:

  • Email

    

    • Please enter System notifications -> Email. This section is used to set the sender's SMTP settings, including:

      • Hostname: SMTP server host
      • Port: SMTP protocol port, usually 25, 465, 587
      • Username: Email account of the sender
      • Password: Email password of the sender
      • SSL/TLS: Encryption method used by the SMTP server, can choose SSL/TLS, STARTTLS, or None

      The above fields are mandatory. Please use standard SMTP settings.

    • Additionally, a Send test function is provided, allowing users to test the SMTP server before submitting the settings.

• After completing the settings, click Submit to complete the System notifications settings.
